The term self-care seems to be a common buzzword lately. I must admit, on occasion I tend to lack in this area. Especially when I have project deadlines and life obstacles. More often than not I get bogged down in the day to day. Then before I know it, its almost midnight and I am exhausted. Doing a 9-step facial, finding quite time, reading a book or planning a night out, is the last thing on my mind. But perhaps I should change that.

When it comes to sleep, 8 hours who? On occasion, I’ve been known to still be in my studio working shortly before sunrise. I find that a very quite house = the most ideal work environment. As long as Netflix has something i can binge on, its smooth sailing most nights.
Even now, I am up writing and its after 4 am. I know, I know...but old habits die hard. Work hard play hard they say! But all jokes aside, lately I've really been trying to improve in this department. Inside and out. Eat better. Drink more water. Take the stairs. No cake after every dinner. (Lets be real, I am still going to have cake, just less often) Go to bed early. Love me more, mind body and soul. The whole shebang.
" They say when you know better, you do better! After all, no one can take care of you, like you! "

Someone consistently encouraging my self-development would have to be my best friend. Maybe y’all will get to read more about her in future posts, side note - she's amazing.
On our most recent impromptu girl’s night, we ended up Super Target before dinner. Randomly finding ourselves in the beauty department. Of course, this was after wandering through the accessories, clothes and home goods. I'm not normally one for the fuss of makeup. Don't get me wrong, I wear it on occasion. But I leave the house with just lip gloss, sunblock, moisturizer and or BB cream 95% of the time.
As we stroll through the aisles, best friend mentioned I should try a face mask sheet. What could it hurt right!? I'm used to the traditional cream textured mask. Or when I’m feeling fancy, a homemade bentonite clay, Aloe Vera and peppermint eso mask. So surely this would be easier and with significantly reduced clean up time. Feeling bold and brave, I purchased three of the Pacifica facial masks..

I also found these acne spot dots. Maybe I've been under a rock somewhere, but I never knew acne patches existed. The very product I've always wanted but thought only existed in my dreams. Where were these when I was in high school!? Yes, toothpaste was very effective. But this, this is cool!
Tomorrow I plan to try these masks. For all my fellow Target lovers, good hunting. To everyone, take a few minutes to yourself every day. Your well-being depends on it.
