Situated on just over 27,000 acres is a natural oasis. The grounds are covered in rolling fields of grass, wildflowers, and romantic architecture. Rome Georgia and Berry College are a weekend photographers' dream. With so much history dating back to the early 1900s, plan on spending a whole day or afternoon here.

Founded by Martha McChesney Berry, the school was built with the intention of providing a complete Liberal Arts education for the financially burdened children of the rural south. Berry College, About Berry.

So, what is there to see? Open to visitation are the; House o' Dreams, The Old Mill, Possum Trot Church, Roosevelt Cabin, Oak Hill & The Martha Berry Museum and more.

On the property we came across the Gunby Equine Center, fields full of wildflowers, and beautiful horses. Situated on 185 acres, the pristine pastures provide an opportunity for education as well as research purposes.

Heading home, we drove through Cartersville, Georgia. This quiet little town has a lot to offer. One of which being, The City Cellar & Loft. Located right off of Hwy 113 Main Street, and just before the train tracks. The southern cuisine found here has kept us coming back for more. Its' cozy and inviting atmosphere is only amplified by the fantastic live entertainment. Here you can eat, drink, sing and laugh in good company. Fair warning, between 6-8:30 pm there is a bit of wait, but it's beyond worth it. If you are a foodie, I definitely recommend putting this restaurant on your list.
