Consisting of over 700 islands and 2,000 cays, The Bahamas is a tropical paradise. Located in the North Atlantic Ocean, Southeast of Florida, The Bahamas is a chain of islands that will keep you coming back for more.

There is something here for everyone; foodies, photographers, water sports lovers, surfers, fishermen, drinkers (lol), music lovers and so much more. Now, I may be a tad bit bias since I am from there, but either way, there is truly no place like home.

If you are looking for more detailed tourist information, this post won't really dive into that. I'll save that information for another post.

For those of you flying from the southeast; a flight from Atlanta to Nassau, Bahamas will be around 2 hours, depending on the size of the plane. From Fort Lauderdale or Miami to Nassau, its approximately 55 minutes. There is nothing like walking along the shore, sinking your toes in the sand and feeling the warm water surround you as the sun kisses your skin.

When visiting the Bahamas, New Providence, in particular, you should definitely make time to visit these restaurants. The view + food + ambiance makes for a relaxing, and yet delightful experience. If you are looking for a taste of authentic Bahamian food, try the restaurant suggestions below. After all, it's better in The Bahamas.

Formerly known as The Compass Point Studio, Studio Cafe is located on West Bay St. in Nassau.

On a hot day, I found the shaded patio to be most appealing, as it provided both a breeze and a gorgeous view. Reasonably priced, their menu has options for everyone.

The food definitely did not disappoint either. Next time I go home, I will be sure to stop by. Below you can scroll through pictures of their menu options.

Aquafire Bar & Grill specializes in the sensual and exotic, and they do it well. Aquafire Bar & Grill is an upscale eatery, where everyone is welcome. Eating inside is a great option, should the heat be too much. But I found the outdoor eating area to be beautifully decorated and inviting.

For lunch, I had the rack of lamb (with a mint sauce of course), and it was DIVINE. Also located on West Bay St. in Nassau, please be advised this is not a restaurant you come to with a KFC bucket budget. Although a bit on the pricey side for an affordable trip traveler, I found it to be worth every red cent. With so many menu options, I suggest visiting Aquafire with more than one person. That way, you get to taste and share several items on the menu in one go.
